11 Million Trees: coffee, climate, and a country at a crossroads

Over a third of households in Timor-Leste are coffee growers. However, most of these families are living below the poverty line, with trees producing only a fraction of their actual potential.

The 11 Million Trees program is a 25-year effort to help shift the coffee sector, aligned with the national sector development plan, and personally endorsed by President Jose Ramos Horta.

As we launch phase two of this program, we’re inviting the international coffee community to join us and become part of this change through our Kickstarter campaign which is now live.

Changing the world needs a powerful strategy. This requires that we make tough choices. Not just about what we will do, but also, what we will not do.

If bettering the lives of coffee producers is important to you, you’re in the right place.

Plant to Port, our green coffee course.

Plant to Port is a course that will bring you to the areas that are often out of reach for you; the various stages of green coffee production, pre-export, and in the producing country itself.

The course provides attendees with an insight into the world of green coffee production, and leaves them with a broad and experiential understanding of coffee from in-depth agronomy, all the way to exportation.

Whether you’re wanting to level up your own understanding of the supply chain within a producing country, or to increase the knowledge of your team, this is the course for you.
