Raw Material launch expert led green coffee course
From 23 - 30th October 2023, Raw Material are hosting an expert led green coffee course; Plant to Port. The course will be held in Colombia, where attendees will be taught about the entire value stream in a coffee producing country. Each day will cover a different segment of coffee production, where attendees will:
Learn the role of soil health, variety selection, and reforestation at the abundant coffee ecosystem, El Fénix Community Wet Mill and Farm
Take part in hands-on fermentation classes, to explore affordable processing adaptations, that can transform a farm’s profitability
Meet coffee producers and associations to learn how they can function as sustainable, profitable businesses
Examine what the supply chain needs to do, to best ensure profitability for producers
Study the final steps coffee takes in a producing country; from dry milling, to port.
The course will be led by three experts in the field:
Miguel Fajardo Mendoza: Raw Material Head of Global Operations, and El Fénix Community Wet Mill and Farm
Hernando Tapasco: Owner of Cafe y Procesos, Agronomist, coffee production consultant, CQI Arabica & Q Processing Professional instructor
Mario Gonzalaz: Business consultant for coffee producers across Colombia, helping to maximise their profitability and business management
The seven day course is £1000, and is suited to those invested in a personal career development in green coffee. The course is class led, and perfect for those who learn well in a practical as well as academic environment. The full course breakdown can be found here.
